Description

Family Violence Contact Officer Network

The Family Violence Contact Officer Network is supported by Ballarat Health Services (BHS) Strengthening Hospital Responses to Family Violence (SHRFV) initiative.

The network is open to Family Violence Contact Officers from Health Services supported by BHS to implement the SHRFV initiative.

The establishment of the network has arisen from a need to support Family Violence Contact Officers and to provide professional development opportunities to increase skill and knowledge in responding to family violence.

It is acknowledged that people undertaking the role of Family Violence Contact Officer are at risk of vicarious trauma. The network acts as a mechanism to support self-care and staff wellbeing.

The network also aims to provide a safe space where case studies can be shared and reflective practice undertaken to enable learning from colleagues in similar roles.

This is the fourth of four sessions that will be held throughout 2019.

Sessions will be facilitated by Peter Cranage. Peter has extensive knowledge and experience in family violence and is experienced at leading clinical supervisor.

Attendance is free. A light working lunch will be provided.
